Chemical risk assessment

Description

Title IX of Legislative Decree 81/2008 requires a chemical risk assessment for work activities involving hazardous chemical agents.

European legislation has undergone significant updates with the introduction of the REACh Regulation (Regulation 1907/2006), the CLP Regulation (Regulation 1272/2008) and the SDS Regulation (Regulation 878/2020), which amended the criteria for classifying, labelling and packaging hazardous substances and mixtures.

These changes have made it necessary to adapt chemical risk management, with impacts on:

  • Updating the company risk assessment.
  • Substance and mixture labels, which may now feature entirely different elements from those previously known.
  • Training workers exposed to chemical risk, which must align with the new provisions.
  • Companies that market chemical substances — whether purchased from third parties or obtained through blending — which must comply with the new classification and relabelling criteria.

The course equips participants with the key knowledge of current regulations, including how to set up and conduct a proper chemical risk analysis within their own company and assess whether existing prevention and protection measures meet regulatory requirements.
